Caregivers Trained for Dementia and other Memory Care Conditions

Every caregiver completes dementia-specific training before working with our residents, with ongoing education each year to keep their knowledge and skills current. Training includes communication techniques, redirection, and how to respond with patience and reassurance when someone feels frightened, confused, or disoriented. When a resident becomes agitated or unsettled, we look for the cause before anything else. Pain, hunger, thirst, needing the bathroom, or a change in routine are often behind a difficult moment. We use redirection, reassurance, and familiar activities first. Medication changes are never our starting point, and we work with each resident’s physician when a change is being considered.

Safe Without Restriction

Our doors lock the way any home’s front door does. For those with early to advanced cognitive impairments, we ensure they have a staff monitoring them 24/7 so you can feel reassured your loved one is safe and secure. Exit doors have gentle closers and an alarm system on exit doors that lets a caregiver know when a door has opened, so someone is there to help right away. Motion-activated cameras at the doors and gate alert our administrator and other staff directly. The result is a home where someone is always watching out, without anyone being confined.

Days with Purpose

Activities are built around a person’s personal interest. That might mean looking through old photographs, listening to familiar music, simple art, exercise or doing small tasks that give a sense of usefulness. Every resident’s plan starts with their life history, their interests, and their strengths.

Common Questions

Do you provide dementia care?

Yes. Our team supports residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in a safe, gated environment. Our staff is trained to care for residents with cognitive impairments, and we have protocols in place to prevent a resident from leaving unsafely. Care is tailored to each person’s routines, abilities, and changing needs.

Yes. A caregiver is awake and on duty through the night, every day, so residents are never without someone nearby.

If we notice a change in memory, mobility, or behavior, we’ll contact you, discuss it, and work with you and their physician on the next steps. If a resident’s needs move beyond what we’re licensed to provide, we’ll help you find the right level of care and support you through the transition.

Our team is trained to respond to urgent situations and will contact the appropriate provider based on each resident’s care plan, whether that’s emergency services or their hospice team. We notify the resident’s designated family contact as soon as possible.

All medications are stored in a locked, secured location. Our trained staff assists with reminders and medication management according to each resident’s care plan and applicable regulations.

Memory care rates depend on the level of care your loved one needs and the room they choose. We provide families with a clear breakdown of our rates and care levels so you know what to expect. We’re happy to discuss your loved one’s needs and help you understand which level of care may be the best fit. Click here to learn more about Our Levels of Care.
